Managing hard dollar and in house industrial projects to $60M, you will be responsible for delivering effective construction solutions on time and within budget. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for:
Managing the total delivery of commercial building projects with values up to $60M to the specified parameters of time, quality and cost
Ensuring legislation and company procedures and systems are followed
Heading up negotiations with respect to any head contract or subcontract claims
Programming and budget management. Managing the accurate preparation of monthly management and client reports. Due to the strategic majority stock purchase of a specialist overseas rail contractor they now have the total capability to build and maintain all aspects of rail infrastructure; including earthworks, tracklaying and signalling equipment. There are already several rail projects under construction and this is going to be an ever expanding part of an already solid business. There is an immediate requirement for three Project Engineers who will essentially be acting as assistant Project Managers. Duties will include: Project planning and programming. Applicants will need to be qualified Civil Engineers with five years post graduate experience working in a Civil Contracting environment
Assist in development and management of Preferred Provider Program
Review letters of intent, lease proposals and lease drafts to ensure feasibility
Planning, budgeting, and reporting, Assist in development of space plans, schedules, and preliminary budget estimates. Develop detailed schedules and budgets to ensure completion in accordance with the lease. Prepare periodic summary and variance reports Project management. Review plans and construction drawings for accuracy and value, Administer bid process, Conduct pre-construction kick-off meeting, Distribute building rules and regulations, Monitor all aspects of construction (scheduling, budgeting, and communications) to ensure quality completion on-time and on-budget. Advise and support engineers in overseeing work performed/ contracted by tenants, Ensure that property engineering (MEP’s) is completed as necessary on all projects
Maintain a project file for each construction job with relevant documentation, Support move-in process as necessary Close-Out, Ensure property receives all close-out materials, Follow up on survey issues in conjunction with other team members Team coordination, Attend bi-weekly team meetings TI accounting activities
Approve payment of invoices as appropriate based on project plan. Escalate where necessary and provide communication to appropriate management.College degree in business administration, or related field
Primary responsibilities will include tracking of quantities for payment and cost purposes, preparation of submittals, development of good working relationship with Owner, subcontractors and field personnel, update and maintain project schedule, maintain documentation to support the Company's position for claims resolution, and to assist the Project Manager. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university program and a minimum three years related experience; or a combination of extensive industry experience with post secondary education.
